I received an automated call from the superintendent informing me that school has started. No duh. If kids don't know that, their education is probably just a waste of taxpayers' money.

If you think they're stupid now, imagine how it'd be without schooling. Education is to prevent people from thinking that the Sun revolves about the Earth, which is still one of the goals. ;-)
